The Department has sufficient infrastructure facilities to teach Remote Sensing, GPS and GIS taking the global as well as local problems of Disaster and Management. It has acquired satellite digital data products of IRS/PAN, SPOT, LANDSAT, Microwave/Thermal data and data sets for SAR Interferrometry for the problem areas apart from the basic topographic information for the entire region of Tamil Nadu.

Recently the Department has procured ARC/INFO, ENVI, ER Mapper, ARC GIS softwares for the application purposes. The Department has two mobile GPS system for online mapping procedures. The lab is fully equipped with the funds received from the University Grants Commission and Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
